Description:
This popular hike climbs steadily through lush forest and past Coopey Falls before switchbacking up burned slopes and open ridgelines. The trail finishes at a rocky bluff with sweeping 270° views of the Columbia River Gorge, including Beacon Rock and Silver Star Mountain. The final viewpoint is exposed with significant drop-offs, so use caution.

  • Sturdy hiking shoes with good traction (rocky/uneven terrain)
  • Plenty of water and snacks
  • Layers and wind protection (summit can be gusty)
  • Leash if bringing a dog
