About us

Good questions are better around a table.

We are a small circle of friends and professionals in our twenties and thirties, opening a few seats to people who enjoy thinking carefully and would like to make friends along the way.

We aim to meet weekly for a guided seminar and conversation. Each evening begins with a short introduction to one philosophical question. We then work through it together, clarifying ideas, testing arguments against examples and building on what others have said. The aim is to leave with a clearer understanding than we arrived with.

Expect a table of six, about 90 minutes of thoughtful discussion and room for everyone to contribute. You do not need a philosophy degree or advance reading. Curiosity, careful listening and a willingness to reconsider an idea matter most.

The discussion is guided by Maryus, who was born in Russia and has a BA in philosophy. He earned his master’s degree in physics at Columbia University. He brings a love of clear questions and lively conversation to the table.

We plan to meet after work on Tuesdays, with occasional Thursdays. Each event will list its confirmed time and location. Come for the ideas and get to know the people behind them.
