This pressure sends unconscious messages of "Get back at it; you can't afford to rest." However, we can’t afford not to rest. Evidence shows that intentional care and rituals honoring the significance of birth can reduce postpartum anxiety and depression.

Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to recovery, emphasizing nourishment for the body/mind and spirit. Key components include a diet of warm, easily digestible foods, prioritizing rest and warmth, and herbal remedies for hormonal balance.
