Kayak Camping at Hope Island

Details
I encourage anyone who can camp an extra night (or 2) Friday and/or Sunday night(s) to do so.
This is a really beautiful spot, and the best part is that it's close to shore and suitable for beginners. You do not need all the proper gear, skills & experience required for trips in the San Juans & elsewhere in Puget Sound, and it's an excellent opportunity to gain experience & skills for such trips if you are interested. Paddle boards, canoes, etc. are welcome.
I have extra kayaks I can bring for people who don't have their own.
You should bring your own sleeping bag, tent (or hammock) food, water, and if possible, immersion gear (dry suit or wetsuit). No potable water is available on the island. Dogs & fires are not allowed.
Overnight parking is free and seems to be fairly safe. Most of the people who park there are other paddlers, fishermen & professional shellfish harvesters. No passes are required.
This time I will put people on the waitlist initially. I prefer to invite people I have at least previously met rather than strangers with no info on profiles.
Please consider making a cash or venmo donation @Portland-Kayaking to pay for gas, equipment, organizing, safety, instruction, etc.
