NW Lacamas Lake and Lacamas Creek - after work paddle
Details
We will meet at Lacamas Lake Leadbetter Road boat ramp with a goal of being on the water at 6:00 pm. This is flexible and some are coming from work, but let’s shoot for that.
Mileage: approx 4-5 miles depending on how far up the creek we can get.

We will paddle down the NW end of lake to the Lacamas Creek and back. This is the main lake and you should be comfortable paddling in wind.
If you have a head lamp please bring it just in case, you are responsible for your gear and safety.
What to bring:
- A kayak or SUP
- Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and whatever else you need to keep safe
- Something to keep your essentials dry. (key fobs and phones don’t work well when wet)
- whistle -
- Sun protection
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Water and snacks
Somewhat faster kayaks, and/or a bit of paddling strength & stamina are recommended for this paddle. It's not difficult, but we will need to at least keep a moderate pace in order to get up to Lacamas creek and return by sunset. Feel free to post any questions you may have about this, or message me.
We love when you bring friends but they do need to sign up individually so they agree to the terms and conditions as this is an active event that has risks and hosts / organizers are only volunteers with no experience or specific training.
Please support our group and consider making a small $10 donation once per season to support the annual meetup expenses and other costs. Cash or venmo donation @Portland-Kayaking.
