About us

An art community group in the heart of Edinburgh for anyone who would like to meet like-minded creative people and practice drawing portraits of fellow group members from life.

Each week, we will form small groups and have the chance to chat before starting a series of short-pose drawings. We will pick someone from each group to act as the first model, changing around every 2-10 minutes so that everyone has the chance to be the sitter (unless you would rather not, no pressure!).

The event organiser, Lauren, is a portrait artist and art tutor, and a finalist of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2025. Although the sessions are untutored, she is more than happy to give advice or feedback.

The aim of the group is to meet new people, practice drawing faces from life, and take time to experiment with new styles or develop your own in a no-pressure environment.

(Some drawing materials will be brought to share, but people should bring their own.)
