The Post Apocalyptic Book Club and Unsung Stories (https://www.meetup.com/unsung) have teamed up to bring you an extra special event in the Dark Societies series, on Tuesday 3rd October 2017, from 7pm.

To celebrate the launch of their new anthology of dystopian fiction, 2084 (http://www.unsungtories.co.uk/2084), we are bringing together authors Anne Charnock, Malcolm Devlin and Aliya Whiteley to discuss the collection, Orwell and dystopian fiction. We're also hoping some of the other excellent contributors to the anthology will also be in attendance.

Copies of the book, including limited edition hardbacks, and swanky signing pens will also be available.

Featuring new and exclusive stories from leading science fiction authors such as Christopher Priest, Jeff Noon James Smythe and more, 2084 was supported by a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign earlier in the year.

Fifteen predictions, seventy years in the future. By 2084 the world we know is gone. These are stories from our world seven decades later.

In 1948 George Orwell looked at the world around him and his response was 1984, now a classic dystopian novel. Here fifteen writers asked themselves the same question as Orwell did – where are we going, and what is our future?

Visit the dark corners of the future metropolis, trek the wastelands of all that remains. See the world through the eyes of drones. Put humanity on trial as the oceans rise. Say goodbye to your body as humanity merges with technology.

Warnings or prophesies? Paradise or destruction? Will we be proud of what we have achieved, in 2084?

Our future unfolds before us.
