What we’re about

We are pilgrims, reconciling lived experience with evolving theological reflections and personal values. (↓ Click read more ↓)

Do you love God but cringe at an exclusionary church culture that gatekeeps who's in and who's out? Can you no longer love a God that allows the kind of suffering you see? Has the goodness of God become an empty truism that rings hollow in the worship service around you?

Have you completely burnt out by giving too much of yourself in serving? Or has your loving church come apart at the seams fighting over doctrine or direction?

Do you have genuine questions that have been met with platitudes and verses? Have you delved deep into scripture, only to find that the prescribed interpretations offered at Bible study cannot make sense of the complex, messy realities of life in this world?

If any of this resonates with you, but you've not been able to express your doubt, wrestling, lament, question, or pain earnestly in a typical church setting, you are not alone. This group is here for you, to journey together with you on your pilgrimage of faith and doubt.

We gather in cafes, parks, and homes to eat together, wrestle together, pray together. We're thrilled to be joined by Rev. Dr. Sharon Smith. A fellow traveller on this post-evangelical journey, Sharon grew up in a conservative evangelical church and has found her way into leadership and ministry in a church that is more aligned with her lived experience. She doesn’t have answers, just deepening questions and experience as a pilgrim.

Whoever you are, wherever you're at on this walk, you are welcome among us. We invite you to bring your faith and hope, as well as your questions and doubts.
