Book club: The Red Necklace, by Sandy Gardner

This book is not my typical style as it involves fantasy but let's give it a try. As an initial foray into historical fiction might be interesting even with the magic!

The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner is a young adult historical novel set during the French Revolution, following a gifted Romani boy named Yann Margoza who uses his psychic and magical abilities to save a young heiress, Sido, from a villainous count. The fast-paced adventure blends historical fiction with magic, exploring themes of friendship, betrayal, and the stark contrast between the aristocracy and the poor as Paris descends into the Reign of Terror.
