We’re back with Volume 2 of our Evolving Prague series! 🏗️✨ This time, we’re tackling the biggest question on every Prague resident's mind: Why is housing here getting so expensive, and who are these massive new developments actually being built for?

As part of Den architektury, we’re joining architect Anna Vinklárková and urban sociologist Václav Orcígr (co-hosted by NGO Arnika) for a critical walk through Rohanský ostrov. We’ll take a deep dive into Prague’s largest mega-projects—Rohan City, Bubny, Florenc, Smíchov City, and Nákladové nádraží Žižkov.

We'll discuss land speculation, investor buying, and what is stopping the city from creating truly affordable housing.

After the 2-hour walk, we’ll head to a nearby spot for drinks, food, and a chill debrief! 🍻🍔

🇨🇿 LANGUAGE NOTICE:

  • 🗣️ The walk & discussion will be in CZECH 🇨🇿
  • 🌍 Non-Czech speakers are still super welcome! We can break down the key takeaways on the go, and our post-walk drinks/chat will be in English as usual.

⏰ TIMELINE:

  • 16:45 – Meet at the end of Wittgensteinova street (Rohanský ostrov, by the bike path)
