About us
This group is for anyone who loves hiking and exploring the trails in Prescott. Dogs are welcome. Let’s get outside and have fun! (Photo courtesy of David Terrie taken on one of our hikes.)
Hiking can include a level of risk and therefore be potentially hazardous and/or dangerous.. Risk is always a factor when hiking, and these risks include: falls (broken bones, head, neck, or back injuries,) weather (excessive heat or cold,) wildlife (bears, mountain lions, rabid animals, etc.,) and negligence (of the hiker or another hiker,) that could lead to injury or death while hiking.
For these reasons, it is the responsibility of the hiker to learn the necessary skills for safe hiking. All hikers must assume responsibility for their own actions, safety, exercise sound judgment, and be prepared for all conditions. Every hiker that participates in the scheduled hikes, does so at their own risk and will not hold the organizers responsible for any mishaps.

Salida Gulch Trail #95 (Intermediate)
Location not specified yetSalida Gulch Trail #95 is a pretty hike through an intermittent steam area. It begins off of Salida Connection Trail #9263 and loops back to its beginning. In just over 4 miles, this trail showcases everything from prickly pear cactus to ponderosa pine, and from lush riparian willows and walnuts to grey-green hillsides of chaparral. There are wonderful sweeping views of the Bradshaw Mountains as the trail leaves the creek bed and gains elevation.
Although this trail is nearby to the cities of Prescott and Prescott Valley, it provides users with ample opportunities to find stillness and solitude.
This trail is open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bicyclists. Please be considerate of other users—slow down and know when to yield the trail. Refrain from using horses and bikes when the trail is wet. There is no drinking water at the trailhead or on the trail. Although there may be water in Lynx Creek, it has not been tested for quality
Directions:
From downtown Prescott, travel east on Hwy 69 to Walker Road. Turn right and go 1.2 miles to the sign for Lynx Creek Ruin. Turn left onto Lynx Creek Road (FR 9401) just after the sign. Travel 0.8 miles past the Day Use area, bearing right down the hill and continuing to the end of the road. There is a large improved lot with ample parking for both single vehicles and horse trailers. Road conditions are paved, then graded dirt and suitable for all vehicles.
To reach Trail #95, take Trail #9263 across Lynx Creek and just past the gate. Trail #95 begins on the right.4 attendees
