Training Hike- West Spruce Trail- 6 Miles

Details
This training hike will be in the Sierra Prieta Mountains. The hike will be a go at your own pace and designed to push your stamina and endurance. This is not a stop and take a picture hike, rather, it is a get your heart beating and get into shape hike. The hike will be a strenuous 6 mile, out and back hike, but you can choose how many miles you want to go, and where you want to turn around. The hike is 1094 feet of elevation change. The elevation will change from 6550 to 7000 feet, and will get your heart racing. The trail is a single track trail with lots of climbing and exposure. It is very pretty and secluded. Hiking poles are recommend.
We will meet at the White Rock Trailhead and carpool to the start of the hike because the road to get there is very rugged. Since we have to carpool, you may have to wait for whoever you carpool with at the end of the hike.
Directions to the White Rock Trailhead:
From downtown Prescott, drive west on Gurley Street, which turns into Thumb Butte Road, for 5.1 miles. The trailhead will be on the right side of the road, in a dirt parking lot.
As always, please remember to bring water, electrolytes, snacks, sunscreen and a hat.
