Willow, Mint Wash, West Lake loop - 5.25 miles

This is one of the annual "Hiking Spree" hikes for 2025.

We will hike both the "red" and "blue" routes per the Highland center map, for a total of about 5.25 miles. This is generally considered to be an "easy" hike, although some trail sections may be somewhat steep and rocky. Most of the hike will be in the forested area with moderate shade.

Directions to the trailhead: Drive west on Iron Springs Rd to Granite Basin Rd, 3 miles past Willow Creek Rd (or 1.6 miles past Williamson Valley Rd.) Turn right on Granite Basin Rd and continue 2.5 miles to the right hand turn to the Cayuse Equestrian Trailhead, a dirt road. The parking area is .2 miles down the road. There is a $5 fee to park, unless you have a US Forest Service pass. The hike begins with trail #346 at the south end of the parking area.
