Looking at the Presto + Iceberg REST catalog implementation

The Presto v0.288 release added support for the REST catalog in the Presto Iceberg connector, including basic OAUTH2 support and session support.

Iceberg catalogs are the logical concept by which tables are accessed and tracked and the Iceberg REST catalog has gained quick favor due to its flexibility. In the case of a REST catalog, the server-side catalog logic can be customized and implemented in any language as long as it follows the Iceberg REST Open API specification (https://github.com/apache/iceberg/blob/main/open-api/rest-catalog-open-api.yaml).
