About us
Welcome to Pride Adventures (Victoria)!
We organise a variety of LGBTQ+ friendly activities and trips for members to connect, have fun, and make new friends.
The idea is simply to provide our community (and friends) a welcoming platform to meet like minded people in a relaxed environment whilst having the opportunity to enjoy the best of what Victoria offers.
Most activities are centred around my love of bushwalking and just getting out into the wonderful outdoors, but we will be hosting general social events and are always open to suggestions.
Events will cater for people of varying fitness levels from those that just want to enjoy a gentle social walk to those that want to combine the social aspect with building their fitness levels and taking on a challenge!
Carefully read the event description to understand if the posted event is right for you or simply ask the organiser of the event.
What's the cost ?
Events are free unless there are entry fees or other expenses that require payment.
Is transport provided ?
Those attending events will be required to arrange their own transport to the meeting point.
We are always keen where possible for those with transport to offer a ride to others in order to do our bit for the environment but also give those without transport the opportunity to attend events. (to allow for this we use a simple carpooling website - just follow the link on the event description)
Why am I on the waitlist for an event?
In the interest of safety and in some cases to minimise the impact on the environment, hike leaders will often nominate an attendee limit for the event. If the limit has been reached, you're still welcome to join the waitlist and simply keep checking to see if a space has become free.
What if I can’t come to an event anymore?
Please change your RSVP to ‘Not going’ even if you’re currently on the waitlist.
A no-show policy applies to all events, so if you’re a confirmed attendee but can no longer come, please contact the hike leader as early as possible to avoid being marked as a no-show. (3 no shows and you will not be able to attend future event in fairness to all those in the group)

Kangaroo Island Adventure: March 5th - 9th
Join us for an unforgettable adventure on Kangaroo Island! We'll be hiking iconic trails, taking in breathtaking landscapes, and enjoying the region's amazing food and wine.
The main hiking days are Friday the 6th, Saturday the 7th, and Sunday the 8th of March. To provide flexibility, each day will be posted as a separate event, so you can join for all three or just the days that work for you.
Our base will be Kingscote, the largest town on the island. It offers a wide range of accommodation options, as well as excellent restaurants and bars.
Logistics & Next Steps:
Kangaroo Island is located 70km from Adelaide and is accessible by ferry or small plane. As the island is Australia's third largest, we will need cars to reach the various trailheads. We're hoping a few people can bring their vehicles to minimize hire costs and to allow more people to join without flying into Adelaide.
CAR Pooling:
Taking your car ? Please add your car to the car pool via the link below:
Please ensure you make the following clear in the details section:
- The day and time you will leave and the meeting point for departure.
- If you are planning to do the drive over 2 days where do you plan to stopover ? (so passengers can arrange accommodation)
- The time of the ferry you will take so passengers can book their ferry tickets.
- The day and time you will leave the island, the departure ferry time and again any planned stopovers.
Please List Car Here and let your passengers add their details.
Check out the links and photos below for more information and a glimpse of the incredible scenery from my last trip!

Cardina Reservoir park Loop 10km
Cardinia Reservoir Park, Cardinia Reservoir Access Rd,, Emerald, AUGRADE: Easy
ELEVATION GAIN: 230 mtrs
DISTANCE: 9.80km
EST TIME: 3 hrs
PACE: Moderate
MEETING POINT: First Carpark as you enter the Gates
HOST CONTACT: 0415802146
I'll be hosting a hike through Cardinia Reservoir, a local favourite of mine. We'll be following a well known loop that takes in most of the park's beautiful bushland, with great views over the reservoir and a close up look at the massive dam wall. The area is quiet and peaceful, with loads of birdlife around and a good chance of spotting kangaroos along the way. It's a relaxed but rewarding walk, covering almost 10 km and taking up to around 3 hours depending on group size and pace, with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. A great option if you're keen for a scenic hike that feels remote but is still close to home

Dandenong Ranges - Glasgow Rd to 1,000 steps loop. HARD
glasgow track carpark, cnr sheffield rd and glasgow rd, kilsyth, melbourne, AUGrade: Hard
Total Elevation Gain: 1,560
Distance: 26 km
Pace: Moderate (3.5km PH)
Meeting Point: Glasgow RdK Kilsyth VIC 3137
Host Contact Number: 0401498263. (Douglas)
Dogs - No Dogs Allowed
This is a challenging hike that tackles two of the Dandenong Ranges' biggest climbs.
However, it is a fantastic adventure that takes us through the most beautiful sections of these ranges and delivers a genuine sense of accomplishment upon completion.
Given the pace and the total ascent and descent, this hike requires a good level of fitness and is only suitable for experienced hikers.
We begin our hike at the meeting point at the bottom of Glasgow Road. From there, we start with a steep climb to the park entrance before tackling the famous Scar Track, which ascends directly to the range's peak.
At the top, we enjoy a brief, flat section leading to the beautiful Burkes Lookout. Next, we head down the Zig Zag track and traverse the ranges before descending the Lyrebird track. This is followed by our second major climb: the popular 1,000 Steps.
Once at the top of the steps, we make our way back across the ranges on undulating trails. The hike concludes with our final descent down the gentle Edgar Track, returning us to the starting point.

Mount Macedon Loop 19km
Mount Macedon Trading Post, General Store, Cafe & Post Office, 686 Mount Macedon Rd, Mount Macedon, VI, AUGrade: Moderate to Hard
Total Elevation Gain: 724m
Distance: 18.3 km
Pace: Moderate 4 km PH
Meeting Point: Mt Macedon Trading Post
Host Contact Number: 0401498263 (Douglas)
The walk begins at the Mount Macedon Trading Post with a short stroll along bitumen before turning to gravel, where the main trail starts. From here, a steep steady climb leads through forest towards the summit of Mount Macedon. The trees thin near the top, opening to Memorial Cross and panoramic views.
The trail then follows the Western Face, largely flat, through messmate forest still bearing fire scars from 20 years ago. After passing several fire trails, you reach McGregors Picnic Ground, a perfect snack stop.
From here, the track climbs to Camels Hump (optional). A brief walk from the carpark takes you to the summit, where the views are spectacular. The track continues to Sanatorium Lake, built in the 1800s to serve a tuberculosis sanatorium and now home to robins, wallabies, and herons.
Beyond the lake, the path drops along fire trails before rising again to Mount Towrong, marked by a large rock cairn. The descent from here is steep and rocky, offering broad views across Macedon and the west, before easing into the valley and returning via gravel roads to the hotel.
