Hepburn - Spring Creek, Argyle Walk and Jackson's Lookout loop tracks

Today we'll hit two shorter, dog-friendly tracks in Hepburn / central highlands region giving us a good mix of leisurely walking and elevation, mixing up the scenery between the Spring and Argyle creeks as well as traversing some of the surrounding forest.

Now that we‘ve had some rain, these creeks might actually be flowing. We ‘may’ have an ankle-deep crossing or two, so pack some extra footwear to change into. (Last time i visited here it was beyond dry.. recent rains might only have revegetated but not refilled. We’ll see 🤔)

We’ll gather for lunch afterward at Hepburn Cafe, 115 main Rd, Hepburn Springs.

First hitting the Argyle Walk and Jacksons Lookout loop track, we’ll hike approximately 6km and 200 elevation leading us gradually upwards to Jackson’s Lookout and a perfect 360 degree view of the surrounding forest. We’ll then return to our start point at the main car park before heading off and following the Spring Creek loop track where we’ll hit a bit more elevation, and possibly a river crossing or two.

Both hikes are about 1hr 40 mins and If anyone wants to jump off after the first trail and hit the brewery, you’ll have the opportunity to do that.
