Lysterfield Lake Hike - 14.8km Moderate

This hike is classified Moderate to Hard. There will be 2 steep uphill sections and one steep downhill section on the way down. We will be stopping for a good rest at the top, so bring some snacks.
Afterwards we will lunch at The Fountain Gate Hotel. (please respond to my lunch comment if you will be attending lunch - to allow for a proper booking.)
This longer walk combines Lysterfield Lake Circuit Trail that loops around the lake with trails that head to the top of Lysterfield Hill and its lookout which the highest point in the park. At the top, it has nice views of the city and outer suburbs plus varied terrain a mix of narrow and wide dirt tracks. Tracks with some great views of the city and outer suburbs.
The area is popular with mountain bikers and walkers as it has a mix of both tracks that wind through a mix of remnant native vegetation and plantation forest. It is home to a large range of fauna also including 140 different species of birds, eastern grey kangaroos, black wallabies, koalas, and echidnas.

MEETING/END POINT
Near the public restrooms. Refer to Google map pin drop. We will be walking in a clockwise direction completing a loop, moving southwards at the start.

- Arrange your transport.
- Check the weather forecast.
- Wear comfortable hiking shoes.
- Have your sunscreen handy.
- Bring water, food, snacks for the hike.
- For the comfort of everyone, please refrain from smoking/vaping during the walk.
