Escape the city over the Melbourne Cup weekend and join us on a Tasmanian adventure!

EVENT CONFIRMED: Please read in full before responding:

Please take the time to read the draft outline below and RSVP to this event if you’re keen to join us.

Overview:
Basing ourselves in Hobart, we’ll be able to experience some of the best hiking areas Tasmania has to offer, including beautiful Mount Wellington, the amazing Bruny Island, and the stunning Tasman Peninsula, home to the famous Three Capes Track.

We’ll have three main days of hiking:

  • Saturday, October 31
  • Sunday, November 1
  • Monday, November 2

So if attending all events you would need to arrive into Hobart on Friday the 30th of October and depart on Tuesday the 3rd of November.
This will allow everyone to return ready to start back to work fresh on Wednesday!

(but of course you can arrive earlier or stay on later if you want to extend the trip to enjoy more of Tasmania)

Each hike will be posted as a separate event, so you’re free to join us for every hike or just the ones that appeal to you and fit into your plans.
If you’d like to take a break from hiking, this is also a brilliant opportunity to see some of the many attractions this part of Tasmania offers. Visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA)—a true highlight of the city—take a trip to Port Arthur, the infamous but beautiful penal colony, or simply make the most of the many wineries and dining options in the area.

Getting There:
For those who want to take their cars, there’s the overnight ferry from Geelong to Devonport. Follow this link for more information: Spirit of Tasmania.

Accommodation:
There are many options, from hotels, hostels, and Airbnbs to motels, catering to all budgets. However, given that this is a holiday weekend, it’s wise to book well in advance as soon as the event is confirmed.

Costs:
Apart from your own transport, meals and accommodation costs, we will need to share the cost of getting around on the island. This will likely require us to hire one or two people movers. As an estimate, this will be around $110 per person, depending on final numbers and how many people bring their own cars.
