Details
# Tasmanian Adventure Hike One:
Grade: Hard
Total Elevation Gain: 976m
Distance: 20 km
Pace: Moderate (4.5km PH)
Meeting Point: Salamanca Place Carpark
Host Contact Number: 0401498263 (Douglas)
This is a great way to experience the beautiful Tasman National Park.
A hike that takes in some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Tassie, and links together sections of the iconic Three Capes Track, the Old Cape Pillar Track, and the Cape Hauy Track on its way to the summit of Mount Fortescue.
Rated by most hikers as moderate to hard with just under 1,000 meters gain, however this gain is spread evenly over the distance with only a couple of short but tough hills to keep us challenged.
Meeting and Transport:
We will meet at the main carpark at Salamanca Place at 7:30am for a 7:45 departure via mini van (unless you have your own transport) to the starting point of the hike at Cape Hauy parking area.
The drive will take us about one hour forty five minutes in time to start on the track by 9:45am.
Note: The weather on the Tasman peninsular is famous for its unpredictable nature and can quickly change. So please make sure you are prepared for sudden changes in temperature and conditions.
