Being a Product Manager requires structured and organized thinking. Frameworks and toolkits are a handy and effective way to approach problems. Product Managers learn about many and develop their own throughout their product careers and share some of those with you today.
Main takeaways:
While there are many kinds of Product Managers, in recent years the tech industry has increasingly recognized the importance of the Platform Product domain. Becoming a platform PM demands a specialized skill set — but not the hard technical skills you might expect. In this talk, I'll cover the crucial importance of platforms to businesses and of PMs to platforms, and illustrate how platform PMs approach opportunities by walking through a case study. You'll learn what's different about being a platform PM, and how to ask whether this career path is right for you.
