#235 Design Portfolio Review with Kelly and Joie

A common part of any design interview is a portfolio review. This will usually entail walking through a project in your portfolio with a panel of interviewers that will question you about your work. For our next PHLA event, we want to give you the opportunity to do a mock portfolio review presentation and get real feedback from hiring managers.

If selected as a presenter, we will reach out to you via email and give you 2 weeks to prepare a 10 minute presentation on a project in your portfolio.

If you are not selected for this session, worry not - we hope to have similar events in the future.

Joie Chung

Joie Chung is a product and UX design leader who believes doing what's best for the users is also what's best for the business. She is passionate about the role design and tech can have in improving people’s lives. Over the last decade, she has designed dozens of mobile apps specializing in creating and improving tools to help users do their work easier and meet their goals quicker. She is currently focused on building strong design teams at Realtor.com to support the needs of real estate professionals, connecting homebuyers with great agents to help guide their journey, and enabling a buying experience that's easier, more accessible, and more transparent for everyone. She enjoys growing talent on her team while facilitating a fun and creative environment for designers to do their best work. In her free time, you can find her traveling, hiking and exploring trails, petting puppies at the dog park, or hanging out at coffee shops around Austin.

Kelly Kim

Kelly is an LA based Senior Product Designer at Redfin. She transitioned into UX from a graphic design background, and her journey led her to work at Paciolan, Hallmark Labs, Vrbo, Apple, and now at Redfin. She’s thankful to get paid to do what she loves: having fun designing user friendly experiences that reach millions of customers.

In her personal time, she loves to go hiking with her dog named Moonshine. Post pandemic, she’s really excited to be able to travel internationally again.
