What we’re about
This is a group about enjoying simple joys, creativity, and good company.To start with, we (the group admin) will host frequent meetings at various times in order to give everyone a chance to join us, with the hope that a few enthusiastic members will offer to host beginning in early 2024.We are anti-racist and LGBTQ+ friendly. Most events will be for adults only, but we will have some family events as well. At this point, I imagine it would be about 75% adult events, but we can feel out the needs of the group. (As per meetup rules, and just good common sense, I must make clear that any meeting attendee under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present.)
We aim to keep costs low in order to include everyone. There are a lot of other groups all around Gwinnett county. This one is open to having events in many different locations, but the home base for the admin is Dacula, so many events will be within 30 minutes of that town.
Some events to start us up will include easy hikes, bike rides, cafe meetups, board games, and backyard bonfires. If things go well, I would love for us to have themed potlucks, day trips, skill shares, group volunteer events, scavenger hunts, and other people leading with their own ideas. Who knows, maybe we also grow to host camping adventures. You don't have to be outdoorsy, but because your hosts are, a lot of the first events will be. If you want to be part of the group but aren't outdoorsy, come to a board game night/day or cafe meet up and share what you would enjoy hosting!
This group is being created out of a desire to meet more people who are warm, open, accepting, and authentic.
