What we’re about
Inspired by #MeToo, personal experience, and stories of abuse, attacks and rape, we want to make a difference. This is a community outreach, non-profit project offering free basic self-defense workshops for women.
"We" are Elton Faulk, a Durham self defense teacher and Corinna Kahnke, a college professor and passionate feminist.
Our seminars are more than just martial arts techniques; we offer a safe space in which all women are welcome. From the physical techniques to the discussion sections to everything in between, our seminars are built around controlling fear, reclaiming one's space and realizing one's power over controlling her own fate. There will be no victim-blaming, "mansplaining," or judgment. This is about you, about self-care, and about empowerment.
