Hamnet and Somewhere Else

We haven't been to the Avon in years! The last time was September 2023 to see Oldboy. Our regular screening series at The Space wasn't able to happen for February, and the Avon had their schedule up already, so I thought it was time to finally make our triumphant return!

From Chloé Zhao, Hamnet tells the powerful story of love and loss that inspired the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet. Based on Maggie O'Farrell's 2020 novel of the same name, the film follows the relationship between William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes, and the impact of the tragic death of their 11-year-old son Hamnet on their lives.

Join us on Thursday, February 5th for the 6:20pm showing of Hamnet at Avon Cinema. Group places are a little scarce on Thayer, so after the movie, we'll assess the group size and go from there. I'll come with some options in mind.

Meet in the area past the usher and behind the theater seats at 6:05pm. We'll try to sit together as a group. If you're running late, sit wherever you'd like. We'll meet in the same place after it's over. Drop a comment if you have any questions!
