About us
I taught photography at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan for about 10 years. I know live on Cape Cod and work in Providence, RI. I’m interested in photographic portraiture. I think a portrait is more than just what a person looks like in a photograph – I think that a portrait demonstrates in some way who the person is. I think photographers such as Steve McCurry, Lee Jeffries, and Annie Leibovitz have shown this to be true in their works. To this end, I want to develop a portfolio of portrait images of individuals in and around Providence and Cape Cod of all ages, races, nationalities, orientations, personalities, and so on. I am happy to engage with other photographers and creative individuals on this project but first and foremost – we need subjects – people who are willing to be photographed. It might be nice to hear a little bit about the person’s story and to try to work with them to emulate an aspect of their life in an image. In the end, I will provide high resolution raw image files to the subjects for their own use – in any way. Participants must be willing to sign a model release allowing me to use these images for professional purposes. Please sign up and send me a note if you are interested. If you are photographer – at least I can photograph you and you can photograph me :) Thanks, Joe
