About us
Welcome to the Puget Sound Horror Book Club based in Seattle! This is a club dedicated to books of the macabre, grim and spooky variety. We'll cover anything horror fiction, like gothic horror, psychological, crime thrillers, supernatural, body horror, occult; you name it, you decide it! No subgenre is off the tables. Events will take place in the Seattle area and will generally take place the first or last Sunday of each month.
We'll also be open to subjects like nonfiction and sci-fi, but we want the members to chose the horror and horror adjacent books that appeal most to them!
We'll bring questions and have general guidelines each meetup, but we also want this to be a group dedicated to open discussion and free expression, so attendees and members are encouraged to bring their own notes and questions to promote further discussion. This is intended to be a laidback group for semi-structured conversation, but it's also for socializing and sharing insights regarding the horror book of the month and horror literature in general.
Come to connect with fellow horror fans, get recommendations for your next read, meet friends with similar interests, or just expand your literary explorations!

September Book Club-Slewfoot by Brom
425 Harvard Ave E, Seattle, Wa, USOur third meeting will take place from 12:30p to 2:00p on Sunday September 6th, 2026. It will be hosted in the meeting room at the Capitol Hill branch of the Seattle Public Library (2nd floor). Hope to see you there!
We will be reading Slewfoot by Brom. Here is a brief description:
A spirited young Englishwoman, Abitha, arrives at a Puritan colony betrothed to a stranger – only to become quickly widowed when her husband dies under mysterious circumstances. All alone in this pious and patriarchal society, Abitha fights for what little freedom she can grasp onto, while trying to stay true to herself and her past.
Enter Slewfoot, a powerful spirit of antiquity newly woken ... and trying to find his own role in the world. Healer or destroyer? Protector or predator? But as the shadows walk and villagers start dying, a new rumor is whispered: Witch.
Both Abitha and Slewfoot must swiftly decide who they are, and what they must do to survive in a world intent on hanging any who meddle in the dark arts.
