What we'll do:
This event will feature the following presentations:
Talk #1: Shipping a Python Library Written in Rust
Speaker: Sam Lijin
Description: We ship a Python library & code generator from our (mostly) Rust codebase to our users - I plan to talk about, in broad strokes, things that we found out worked (low rate of bugs!) and do not work (e.g. pickle compatibility is... a challenge).
Lightning talk: DRY not parched: When DRY code becomes too dry
Speaker: Will Migdol
Description: Recently when working on a project, I tried to write my code to be as optimal as possible to be DRY. The issue was that by doing this, I overengineered a lot of the code to be more DRY then it needed to be which increased a lot of the techdebt in my codebase. I would like to give a talk about when DRY is good and when simpler solutions can be better.
Talk #2: TBD
Speaker: Yason Khaburzaniya
