Nature Integration Hike 🥾

Details
Find the others… in nature. 🥾⛰️💐
Join us for a guided group hike and on the Mosier Plateau Trail on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00am. This hike destination will be a little bit further from Portland than previous hikes (just over an hour drive) to catch some of the May wildflowers and epic views of the Columbia Gorge! We will use this time to move our bodies and meet others interested in nature immersion as a form of psychedelic integration and reconnection.
For this hike we will meet at 11:00am at the Mosier Plateau Trail Parking. There is limited parking - please carpool! The intended out-and-back hike will be around 3-4 miles (approx. 2-3hours) with a few brief rests and time near the river. *Possibility for a post-hike brewery stop in Hood River after the hike if there's interest among the group.
Please check the weather and dress appropriately, including: layers for wind, sun protection, shoes with good traction, and water/snacks for several hours on trail.
We will hike in a group no larger than 15 people (including 2 volunteer guides), with an end time around 2pm-ish. Open to all ages*.
Your volunteer guides will greet fellow hikers at the trailhead and facilitate brief introductions and guidelines for the group. We will assist in navigation and pace for the day with a few moments for rest and reflection. This will be a great opportunity to socialize, share stories/knowledge, and intentionally engage with nature!
*As with all PPS events, this event is intended for integration, education, and community connections. The solicitation and use of illicit psychedelic substances is prohibited. While this event is open to all ages, discussion and reference to psychedelic substances will be present. Please use discretion.
MORE HIKE DETAILS & CONSIDERATIONS
- Limited Group Size: To be considerate of other hikers on the trails, we will limit the group size to 13 people (plus 2 volunteer guides). Only RSVP if you actually plan to attend, please. If you sign up and can no longer attend, please cancel your RSVP to open spots for others.
- Difficulty: Easy to moderate. The out-and-back hike is planned for a moderate group pace lasting approximately 4 miles on uneven terrain with mild elevation gain/loss. Please assess your own ability before signing up. Please factor weather conditions into difficulty. Trail will be muddy/slippery in sections.
- Carpooling/Ridesharing: In an attempt to reduce our group’s impact at the trailhead, we encourage participants to connect through the event's chat feature in MeetUp to arrange potential carpools. Remember, it will be a busy weekend day... Please be on time!
- Weather Variables/Rescheduling: We will plan to hike rain or shine. Fingers crossed for a beautiful Spring hike in the Gorge.
- Hike at your own risk: This is a free event and open to the public led by volunteers for the Portland Psychedelic Society. Safety and risk management is your personal responsibility while participating.
