Welcome to the rebirth of the Psychedelic and Entheogenic Society of New York — the original Psychedelic Society, founded in 2006 by Jason Bennett.
This community began in New York City. In 2008, Daniel Jabbour launched the San Francisco chapter, and from there, autonomous Psychedelic Societies emerged worldwide. Together, we seeded what became the Global Psychedelic Society — a decentralized field of cultural inquiry, spiritual experimentation, and post-sectarian community.
After years of public service, Jason entered a deep recovery journey from alcohol dependence — through collapse, death, reanimation, and sacred sobriety. Today, the NYC node reactivates with renewed clarity: integrating psychedelic intelligence, mythic literacy, somatic precision, and voicework — all in service of conscious evolution.
We are a not-for-profit, community-led group committed to restoring dignity, discernment, and depth to the psychedelic conversation. We welcome both experienced explorers and those new to the path. Our gatherings are substance-free by design — to support integration, safety, and collective coherence — while honoring the reality and value of entheogenic experience.
We host regular events featuring thought leaders in the field of psychedelic research, ethics, integration, and consciousness studies — including psychologists, anthropologists, artists, facilitators, recovery mentors, and spiritual teachers. This is a space for nuanced dialogue, not dogma.
We reject the use of sacred medicines for personal profit, social exclusivity, or commodified ego agendas.
Entheogens are not luxury items. They are sacred tools — to be approached with humility, responsibility, and reciprocity.
We do not facilitate, promote, or endorse any illegal activity.
However, we do hold space for honest discussion of experience, integration, and the challenges of walking a conscious path in an unconscious culture. Respectful storytelling and deep listening are welcome here.
