In diesem Kurs beschäftigen wir uns mit verschiedenen Texten aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen. Das können u.a. kurze Geschichten, Gedichte, Zeitungsartikel, Kolumnen oder Videos sein. Immer sind es Themen, die uns gefallen, die wir besonders interessant, wichtig oder manchmal auch richtig schlecht finden. Gemeinsam versuchen wir die Position der Autor*in, den Stil und die Argumentationsstruktur zu verstehen. Dazu diskutieren wir über das, was wir verstehen, welche Meinung wir zu dem Thema haben oder welche Fragen offen bleiben.
Gerne könnt ihr uns auch Themenvorschläge mitbringen oder zuschicken.
Der Kurs richtet sich an interessierte Menschen mit einem B2-Niveau (oder so ähnlich), die Lust haben sich weiter mit der deutschen Sprache zu beschäftigen und ihren Wortschatz zu erweitern.

We'll start off the session with a run in Gleisdreieck park that might include scaling some walls, visiting a few sites in the area to explore their opportunities for climbing and balancing, or going up or down stairs in unusual ways. After the outdoors bit, we come back to our gym where we focus on building strength, working as a group, and learning basic martial arts techniques. We are a small, accessible, mixed-gender, queer-friendly group open to anyone, without any prior knowledge or specific degree of fitness required. Our martial art is Jutaijutsu, a traditional Japanese one focused on self-defence. Sounds interesting? We'd love for you to drop by and join us. You'll need running shoes and comfortable workout clothes, including a raincoat or the like for the park if the weather is bad. Once indoors, we train barefoot. The first three Meetups are free of charge. If you'd like to join our group beyond that, we would ask you to join our association, https://yanagi.berlin, a martial arts school based in Berlin. Membership there is 30 EUR/month and you will be able to train three times a week.

The TMOD also introduces the key roles and functionaries for that session. **Prepared Speeches:** A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to prepared speeches. Members working through various projects in the Toastmasters education program deliver speeches based on their chosen projects. Each speech is evaluated by a designated evaluator who provides feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. **Table Topics:** Table Topics is a segment where impromptu speaking skills are tested. The Table Topics Master presents a series of short, unprepared speaking challenges or questions, and members or guests are invited to come to the podium and give a brief, improvised response. **Evaluations:** Following the prepared speeches and Table Topics segment, evaluators provide constructive feedback to speakers. These evaluations focus on content, delivery, body language, and time management. The goal is to help speakers improve their speaking skills. **Reports and Functionary Roles:** The meeting may include various functionary roles, such as the Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, and others, who report on their observations and contributions to the session. These roles help members improve their language and time management skills. **General Evaluator:** The General Evaluator provides an overall assessment of the meeting, highlighting what went well and offering suggestions for improvement. They may also evaluate the evaluators' performance. **Awards and Recognitions:** Toastmasters sessions often conclude with awards and recognitions, including the Best Speaker, Best Evaluator, and Best Table Topics Speaker. Agentic AI Engineering Lab #5 – Robust Deployments & The Orchestrator Agent
In our last sprint, we established our cloud-native foundation by containerizing our agents and deploying them to Google Cloud Run. But manual deployments don't scale and require you to dig out the exact docker build and gcloud push commands from your shell history every time you tweak your agent’s prompt. **The Plan:** This session is about creating a **truly robust, repeatable deployment process**. We will wrap up our infrastructure setup by writing GitHub Actions that automatically build and push our agent containers to Google Cloud Artifact Registry on every commit. With a solid, "set-and-forget" pipeline in place, we'll shift focus back to agent behavior. We will build a simple orchestrator agent that uses the A2A protocol to dynamically delegate tasks to the worker agents living in the cloud. **This is a "Lab" session. We will:** * Automate for Robustness: Replace manual command-line wrangling with a GitHub Action workflow to build and push our Docker images to GCP on every push to main. * Build the Orchestrator: Develop a lightweight central agent designed to interpret a complex user prompt and route sub-tasks appropriately. * Live Multi-Agent Communication: Establish an active dialogue over the A2A protocol between your local orchestrator and your newly deployed cloud workers. **The Format** We run our sessions like an anthology series: Every meetup is a standalone sprint. While we often build on previous results, each session provides a complete experience and remains fully accessible to first-time attendees. This is a high-density micro-meetup limited to 6 seats. **What you'll build** By the end of the session, you'll have: * A Repeatable CI/CD Pipeline: A set-and-forget GitHub Action that handles the Docker build and Artifact Registry push automatically, ensuring consistent deployments without the hassle. * An Orchestrator Agent: A coordinator capable of breaking down requests and utilizing external agent tools. * A Live A2A Network: A functioning multi-agent setup where your orchestrator successfully communicates with and aggregates results from your cloud-hosted workers. **Schedule (Saturday, 10:00 - 13:00 CEST)** * 10:00: Quick round of introductions. * 10:15: Intro session: Robust CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Artifact Registry, and Orchestrator routing patterns. * 10:30: Build time: CI/CD automation & building the Orchestrator. * 12:00: Live demos + technical teardown. * 12:45: Wrap-up + takeaways. **Prerequisites** * Accounts: A Google Account (for GCP) and a GitHub Account (for Actions). * Laptop with dev setup: Docker and Git installed and working. * Access to an LLM API: (Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, etc.). * Mindset: This is a lab for engineers, not a tutorial. **The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and science—using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights.
