About us

Public Speaking Kung Fu is for experts and professionals who are good at what they do, but feel that speaking and presenting sometimes holds them back.

You may know your subject inside out, but still struggle with nerves, structure, rushing, getting stuck in your head, or showing up as strongly as you would like when the pressure is on.

This group is about training public speaking as a skill.

We work practically on:

  • handling nerves and speaking under pressure;
  • structuring your ideas clearly;
  • voice, body language and presence;
  • slowing down, pausing and staying grounded;
  • storytelling and connecting with an audience.

The focus is on practice: speak, get feedback, adjust and try again.

The goal is to help you speak with more clarity and conviction, so your ideas get heard and you can show more of what you're capable of.

This is especially relevant for professionals in tech, digital, e-commerce and other knowledge-based roles where presenting, influencing and visibility increasingly become part of the job.

Are you good at what you do, but struggle to get your ideas across when you have to present?

Maybe you miss structure when speaking. You rush through your presentation. You get stuck in your head. Or perhaps you already get sweaty hands just thinking about standing in front of a group.

When you don’t speak as clearly or confidently as you would like, good ideas can get lost. Your expertise doesn't land. And with it the opportunities.

You may hold back in meetings, avoid speaking opportunities or simply not come across as strongly as you know you can.

Luckily, public speaking is a skill. And skills can be trained.

In this two-hour Public Speaking Kung Fu workshop, we’ll work practically on some of the fundamentals of strong speaking: dealing with nerves, slowing down, using pauses, structuring your message, storytelling, and becoming more grounded in front of a group.

You’ll speak. You’ll experiment. You’ll get feedback. And you’ll try again.

You’ll walk away with practical tools you can apply immediately, a clearer understanding of your personal improvement points, and a concrete idea of what to practice next.

I’m Lex Zimmermann, founder of Public Speaking Kung Fu. I used to struggle with speaking myself, and over the last 10 years I’ve built my approach through Toastmaster, teaching kitesurfing, improv, Tai Chi and Kung Fu, and working as an expert in tech. Today I help experts become clearer, more grounded and more convincing speakers.

At the end of the workshop, you can also book a free 1-on-1 speaking session with me if you want to go deeper.
