What we're about

Puget Sound Dads Group is a community of fathers from Olympia to Everett. We believe in breaking the “Seattle Freeze” and welcome all dads to feel part of this amazing group several times a month with our kids at parks, playgrounds, museums, parent-and-me classes, and living rooms across the Puget Sound area. We'll also organize parenting workshops and "Dad's Night Out" events to give our members an opportunity to socialize, learn, and support each other as we navigate modern-day parenthood.

We represent a diverse group in the very unique Puget Sound area: at-home and working dads, married, single and divorced dads, straight and gay dads, young and old dads, dads of different ethnic and racial backgrounds, and dads across the economic spectrum. We do have one thing that we recommend to join our group and that is you must be a dad. Which means, of course, no moms/wives/spouses/partners. If you don’t have children, sorry but pets don’t count, then this isn’t the group for you.
Puget Sound Dads Group is a hub of our national organization, City Dads Group, which organizes communities of fathers across the United States. Go to www.citydadsgroup.com/cities/ to see where we are.

June Dad's Adventure Day w/ the Kids

Playground by the Sound

June's Adventure Day w/ the Kids will have our dads heading to University Place and enjoying some quality family time at the Playground by the Sound, on the North end of Chambers Bay Golf Course. The playground has two separate, enclosed playgrounds with a nice grassy area around it for us to gather. The dual playgrounds have a single entrance so it's always nice to have a few dads camped out to keep the kiddos from running off.
We'll have our Tacoma Dads booth set up as a central meeting place with flyers to pass out to anyone interested in learning more about what we do. The playground doesn't have a lot of shelter from the sun so be sure to lather those kiddos up with some sunscreen and bring plenty of water.

Dad and kiddo event @ Georgetown Carnival!

Georgetown Trailer Park Mall

Georgetown Carnival returns! After a 3 year hiatus we're back and ready to have you join us at Seattle's most unique arts and music festival in the city's oldest neighborhood. We're taking over Airport Way to celebrate with live music, art, acrobats, sideshows, Clown Town, kids carnival games, brass bands, vendors, one of a kind products at Oddmall, food, beer, and more! Come see Hazard Factory's World Famous Power Tool Races!

National Father's Eve Celebration - 7Seas Brewery

7 Seas Brewery and Taproom

It's that time of the year! With Father's Day just around the corner, we will once again be joining up with the Father's Eve organization to celebrate Father's Eve and we want dads from all over the Puget Sound to join us! 7Seas has a large space and there should be plenty of room to connect, swap parenting stories, enjoy some food and drink, and get to know each other better.

The idea behind Father's Eve is to celebrate dads on the day before Father's Day, giving us a chance to spend time with each other and then giving space for us to spend Father's Day with the family. This event is being hosted in Tacoma but it is not JUST for our Tacoma dads. This is the one event each year where we try to gather dads from all over to a central location to celebrate together.

Our national toast is 8PM local time and we'll take a moment to raise a glass to fatherhood and all things being a dad. We're always looking for sponsors so if you know a local business that wants to buy a round of drink tickets, has some great swag a dad would enjoy, or items to raffle off we'd love to connect! This only happens once a year so we always try to make it a big deal. We'd love to have you there!

Free Dad Hugs - Tacoma Pride Festival

Downtown Tacoma

The Tacoma Dads Group will be teaming up with the Tacoma chapter of the Free Mom Hugs organization to show support for our local LGBTQIA+ community at the Tacoma Pride Festival this year! It's our first time participating in #FreeDadHugs at Pride, and we're eagerly looking forward to it. While our booth location hasn't been finalized yet, we'll be positioned right next to the #FreeMomHugs booth to ensure that the flow of hugs and tears remains centralized.
