Boat Trip to Embankment & Social at Waterloo’s Wetherspoon! No Organiser Fee!

Would you like to join Putney Social Group on a boat trip from Putney Pier to Embankment and then go for a drink and a chat at the Wetherspoon pub in Waterloo train station afterwards?!
PLEASE NOTE: Photographs of the event's attendees will be taken and posted on Meetup. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let the event's organiser know on arrival.
We will meet at Putney Pier at 2:15pm.
The Uber boat will be leaving at 2:30pm promptly. Please ensure you’re at the pier before this time!
The boat will take about an hour to get to Embankment.
On arriving at Embankment pier, we will walk over the bridge by Embankment tube station to Waterloo train station to go to the Wetherspoon pub, The Lion and The Unicorn, for a drink and a chat!
Please note: As the bridge at Embankment does not have step-free access, unfortunately this event is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Please note: There are different prices for the trip depending on which method of payment you use.
As an approximate guide to the ticket price for the boat trip, according to the phone app it is £11.40 when paid for via the Thames Clippers phone app. It will be more expensive if you buy your ticket on the boat. There is also a concessionary rate on their phone app.
By way of information, there are six ways to buy your ticket:
- Download the Thames Clippers app and pay on your phone. This is the simplest option.
- Download the Uber app and pay on your phone.
- Pay online at: https://www.thamesclippers.com/booking
- Use an Oyster card. You must tap in at Putney Pier and tap out at Embankment!
- Buy a ticket from the ticket machine at the pier.
- Pay for the trip directly to the boat staff on the boat when boarding. Please note: This is the most expensive option.
