Hi folks!
This week is me focused on preparing for SciPy 2015 as I depart on the 4th and return on the 14th. I'll have a lot more to say in the following month's Meetup so this is going to be mostly a project night where you can hang out, work on your project, and maybe get some help with fellow Pythoneers.
We'll have one speaker present Super Extreme Tic-Tac-Toe, made in Python and Pygame.
I may present some mockups of a website I am busy getting off the ground and try to solicit some feedback on the concept, as my team is busy trying to launch a prototype before the end of August. We may walk through and provide an overview of the codebase. I realize this is not particularly Python related but something I can readily discuss is employment contracts and working effectively with lawyers.
Previously I had been running this group as a co-organizer for almost the past half year but I have now officially taken over the reins from Abhin as organizer of this meetup. Practically speaking very little will change.
Exposure aside I am not convinced that we get a whole lot out of this Meetup group. After all, we have our own website and while it is nothing spectacular it is better than paying ~$15 a month to advertise a monthly meeting. That being said, I've renewed dues for another half year but the intent is to get off Meetup and become self sufficient.
I'm trying to establish a pipeline of speakers in the upcoming month so please reach out and contact me if you are willing to speak about a Python related topic.
