Talk: Move Smart: How Wearable Devices and AI Can Turn Movement into Health Insights
Wearable devices such as smartwatches and motion sensors continuously collect movement data, but what if that data could tell us more than just step counts?
In this talk, Parvin will introduce the idea of "Move Smart": using wearable sensor data (Apple Watches) and artificial intelligence to extract deeper health insights from everyday movement. She will explain how acceleration and biomechanical signals can be analysed with machine learning models to estimate meaningful physiological indicators.
You'll learn:

• How raw movement data becomes structured features
• How predictive models are developed for health insights
• Why interpretability is essential when AI is applied in healthcare settings

This talk is designed for a broad data science audience and will demonstrate how intelligent analysis of movement data can contribute to smarter, more proactive health monitoring systems.
