Agenda
17:30: Arrival and Refreshments
17:45: Pizza and Refreshments
18:00: Welcome & Icebreaker
18:30: Machine Learning Adventure in collaboration with Enablis
20:00: Wrap-up & Drinks

The Challenge:
Can you predict who survived the Titanic?
Join us for a hands-on evening where you'll build a first predictive model using one of the most famous datasets in data science. No ML experience? Perfect, we'll guide you from zero to your first working model.

Using real passenger data from the Titanic, you'll analyse patterns and build a model to predict survival. Will age matter more than class? Did being in a certain cabin make a difference? You'll discover the answers by building your own ML solution.

What You'll Learn:
๐Ÿ“Š Data exploration and cleaning
๐Ÿค– Building an ML model
๐Ÿ“ˆ Model evaluation and accuracy metrics
๐ŸŽฏ Real-world ML workflow from data to deployment

Who Should Attend?

  • Developers curious about machine learning
  • Data enthusiasts ready to get hands-on
  • Anyone wanting to understand how prediction algorithms work

No ML experience required โ€“ just bring your curiosity and analytical mindset!

What to bring

  • A laptop is ideal (tablet or phone at a push).
  • Your ticket and your competitive spirit.

If you have been before, we look forward to seeing you again and if you're coming along for the first time, we're excited to meet you and for you to join the Leeds PyData Community.
