PyDataMCR May Talks

We have some more great talks coming up hosted this month by Infinity Works (part of Accenture). Please note if you arrive after 18:30 you will not be able to access the event.

THE TALKS

British Cycling Data Platform in Python by Murray Tait

British Cycling uses the medal success of its elite athletes who represent Great Britain to inspire and support people to cycle regularly.
Data is transforming sport the world over, and track cycling is a sport where marginal gains can make all the difference between winning a gold medal and going home empty handed. To make those gains, the athletes, performance analysts and coaches need tools to effectively capture, process and analyse data, and provide insights into every element of riders’ performances.

Murray is a Senior Consultant at Infinity Works, part of Accenture. Murray will talk about the Infinity Work’s work upgrading the Great Britain Cycling teams data system to a Python GCP platform.

Murray's LinkedIn

Murray will be joined by Peter Robinson - Senior Data Engineer with British Cycling Federation - who will be demo-ing the application and snippets of the code from the data pipeline.

Murray will also be joined remotely by Stefan Krawczyk. Stefan is the co-creator of Hamilton and co-founder at DAGWorks. Hamilton is used in the first step of the data pipeline used.
