Hi PyLadies Berlin! In this members' talks evening held in-person and online, we will have an introduction on our sponsor and 2 very insightful talks for you 🥳

đź’ˇ Ines Montani (she/her) - The Future of NLP in Python
Over the years, Python has become the leading language for AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Data Science. In this talk, I'll introduce you to Natural Language Processing in Python and common problems and complexities when training your own machine learning models, and I'll show you how Python, its newer features and ecosystem enable a better and more productive developer experience.

👩‍💻 Ines is a developer specializing in tools for AI and NLP technology. She’s the co-founder of Explosion and a core developer of spaCy, a popular open-source library for Natural Language Processing in Python, and Prodigy, a modern annotation tool for creating training data for machine learning models.

✨ Noa Tamir (she/they) - What is Contributor Experience?
In my current work as a contributor experience lead, I am supporting and growing Matplotlib’s and pandas’ communities by organizing events, meetings, and proactive engagement with a focus on equity and inclusion of historically marginalized groups. In addition, we recently launched an open source community-led project dedicated to developing best practices for onboarding and supporting contributors to open source projects. In my talk I’ll give an introduction to this new role, the grant that supports it, and some work done so far…

👩‍💻 Noa has been active in OSS for some years now: she co-founded R-Ladies Berlin 2016, volunteered in PyData Berlin 2017, founded satRday Berlin in 2018, WiMLDS Berlin in 2019, volunteered in useR! Toulouse 2019, was a speaker at PyConDE & PyData Berlin 2019, maintains the useR! knowledgebase, co-chaired PyConDE & PyData Berlin 2022, and is a member of the NumFocus DISC committee. Alongside this, she went from being a data scientist to a director of data science at respectable companies, and later became a freelance consultant. Noa has a BSC in Physics, an MSc in Economics and Business Science and a MRes in Economics.
