✨ Laura Summers (she/her) - Sweet Summer Child Score
"Sweet Summer Child Score is an open source library to identify potential AI harms. A truism in tech is that we're good at asking ""can"" we do it but not ""should"" we do it. Attempting to tackle the latter, this library offers a system scan to quickly identify potential harms, and build the capability of relative risk assessment.
SSCS does not explore the specifics of your stack or technical implementation -- instead it takes a step back to look at the ecosystem your technology will be deployed in, and the implementation choices which define the seam between your system and the broader world. Put simply, this is an attempt to see the forest, not the trees.

👩💻 Laura is a very technical designer™️. She's the founder of Debias AI, (debias.ai) and the human behind Sweet Summer Child Score (summerchild.dev), Ethics Litmus Tests (ethical-litmus.site), fairXiv (fairxiv.org), the Melbourne Fair ML reading group (groups.io/g/fair-ml). Laura is passionate about feminism, digital rights and designing for privacy. She speaks, writes and runs workshops at the intersection of design and technology.
✨ Öykü Gümüş (she/her) - Generators in Python
This talk will cover the essential concepts, use cases, and best practices for implementing generators (and iterators) in Python. We'll delve into how these powerful tools can enhance your coding efficiency, manage memory more effectively, and handle large data sets gracefully.
Level: Beginner to the domain (already familiar with Python)
👩💻 Öykü is a software engineer passionate about continuous learning, whether it's technical or non-technical. She is currently exploring the field of geospatial engineering. In addition to professional pursuits, Öykü is trying to give back to the community, sometimes as an organizer and sometimes as mentor or volunteer, with the belief in the power of community involvement to make a positive impact.
