PyCon DE PyData Special: Lightning Talk Workshop

Hi PyLadies Berlin! In this special quick lunch event held online, we will prepare you to give a lightning talk at PyCon DE PyData.
We are hosting a focused 1-hour online workshop with Lisa to support more women in submitting lightning talks during the conference.
Last year, participation from women was extremely low and we want more of us on stage.
The workshop covers:
- what a lightning talk is and how the format works
- why speaking at conferences matters for visibility and career progression
- how to structure it
- how to move from idea to submission quickly
By the end of the session, participants will have a draft proposal ready to submit.
Participants who go on to present a lightning talk at the conference will receive small gifts 🎁
This is a practical, outcome-driven session. It focuses on reducing friction in the submission process and increasing representation at the event.

No prior speaking experience is required.

💡Lisa Quatmann
Lisa Quatmann is a Senior Engineering Manager at MPB in Berlin, with a background in full stack engineering across Chicago, New York, and Berlin. She is active in the Python community as a Django Girls workshop organiser, member of PyLadies Berlin, and co-host of PyConDE lightning talks. In this workshop, she shares practical coaching to help fellow PyLadies prepare and deliver lightning talks with confidence.
