About the talk
When people think about contributing to Python, they usually think about writing code. But the Python ecosystem is built by people with all kinds of skills.
In this talk, I'll share my own unexpected journey, from studying math and making music videos, to contributing to Spyder, organizing SciPy and PyCon, and finding a home in the Scientific Python community. Along the way, I discovered that documentation, outreach, event organizing, mentoring, and community building are just as important as code.
My hope is that you'll leave inspired to find your own place in the Python ecosystem, whatever your background or interests.
