Job offer: Python/Django Backend Developer at Magnus Commodities

From: David A.
Sent on: Tuesday, January 22, 2019 2:12 PM

Magnus Commodities is looking for a Python/Django Backend Developer (30-35k€):

Here at Magnus every day we try to mix energy, finance and technology. We work with some of the most famous brands you know of, and we are about to start a new journey with several of them into a very inspiring project. This new platform will create a new way to purchase and track the commodities industries need and use, at the same time levelling the playing field between huge suppliers and smaller ones, which we believe  can also have outstandingly positive social ramifications.

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with a solid background in Django. You’ll not only onboard a new project, we want your input on the architectural side of things. We welcome your ideas for new projects and features, as well as in deciding which tools and frameworks might be the right choice for the platform, so it can scale when the time comes – therefore you’ll have growth opportunities if you so desire.

You'll have plenty of autonomy in your work, including working remotely, and the opportunity to get involved in a growing project used by major companies.

You’ll be welcomed into a small but talented 20-person team, with a great and very relaxed work environment with very little hierarchy. You can exercise in the gym, play some Padel, shoot some pool or play table football. We have plenty of other available perks, such as fruit, snacks or coffee, and we’re open to hear your specific needs.

What you will do

- Work in tandem with the product, frontend and consulting teams to swiftly design and implement new features and solutions using the Django framework

- Work with the SysAdmins to improve the deployment cycle of the application

- Design and implement data schemas and models to allow the merging of financial and operative data, making life easier for data analysts

- Connect and improve our serverless REST API to retrieve market information

- Maintain the existing functionalities and develop tools to improve application monitoring

- Suggest improvements and share insights that might improve the development cycle

- Get trained in new tools that you believe might be of interest

What we're looking for

A resolutive and dynamic person with proven experience in:

- Python and Django (+3 years)

- PostgreSQL

- Software development lifecycle (documentation, procedures, frameworks)

- Experience with versioning tools and working with different development environments

- Deployment automation

- Incorporation availability <= 3 weeks
- Full-time job and fixed contract
- Flexibility on working hours and working from home
- Starting wage between 30-35k€ (according to experience)
- Scheduled and pre-agreed wage increases, so you know what you can count with as transparently as possible
