Title: Task Master: Solving Deployment Headaches Caused by Long-Running Celery Jobs

The well-known advice to "keep Celery tasks short" does not survive the contact with the messy reality of business requirements. Long background tasks are a fact of life, and they can turn the deployment process into a minefield.
In this talk we will describe why long-running tasks are problematic during deployment, outline a couple of potential solutions with their pros and cons, and finally present one implemented solution that is working well for now.
