Title: Quo vadis asyncio?

asyncio is the venerable framework for async programming added way back in Python 3.3.
Although remaining largely unchanged since the introduction of the async/await syntax in Python 3.5, future Python versions might be bringing larger changes to how we do async programming:
Python 3.14 brings stable free threading, and the community and core developers are considering an alternate way of async programming, modeled on Java virtual threads.
We will take a look at what both of these things mean for good ol' asyncio in the future.
