Title: Our Road to On-Demand Staging on AWS
Setting up on-demand staging environments is relatively straightforward when your application was designed for it. Getting there is another story when your project is a nearly 14-year-old Django monorepo with a very traditional production setup.
We'll cover the following:
* The initial state of the project and the pain points that drove change.
* Efficiently managing staging databases when the main one is 4 TB.
* Spinning environments up and down when production isn't containerized.
* Building it incrementally while still shipping the main product.
