What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in the Python programming language. Join us to learn, share and network!
We hold regular online and hybrid meetings in New Zealand.
You are welcome to join from anywhere in the world - please note our time zone here is NZST/NZDT which is UTC+12/UTC+13. Meetings in this group are via browser-based web conferencing.
Some local in-person events around New Zealand support online participation and will also be listed in this group:
Python New Zealand's Code of Conduct applies to all Python New Zealand events and participants agree to abide by it.
The online meetings in this group use a BigBlueButton instance provided by the New Zealand Open Source Society using infrastructure donated by Catalyst Cloud. Thank you for your support!

Python Developer Productivity: Tools and tricks for getting stuff done
Join the Christchurch Python meetup virtually. Point your web browser at https://bbb2.nzoss.nz/b/men-pg1-cot-ai2 to access the session using Big Blue Button. The online session will be available by 6pm, with the talk starting at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, Firefox tends to not work as well as Chromium based browsers.
What tools and tricks do you use to be a productive and efficient (Python) developer? This will be an interactive show-and-tell session. Menno will start things off by showing some tools and configurations he relies in when working on the command line and in various editors and IDEs. Then it's over to other attendees to show some things they use.
Are you VS Code pro, Neovim ninja, Emacs wizard or agentic ace? What techniques do you use to create and debug Python programs? Do you know some Git tricks that no-one else seems to use? Show us what you do to be productive.
Don't hesitate to pass this information around to whomever you think may be interested to hear and discuss all things Python.
Python New Zealand's Code of Conduct applies to all Python New Zealand meetings and participants agree to abide by it.
