What we’re about
A book club for queer people in Victoria, focused on books by, for, and about queer people.
There is no age restriction other than 19+, so if you identify as queer, gay, bi, trans, ace, male, female, two spirit, enby, or anywhere in between, you are welcome!
We started this group as a way to meet queer people interested in reading great books and getting together to talk about them.
We hope you'll join us!
Group Guidelines:
Profile photo: As much as we love your pets and beach sunsets, your profile picture must show your face. As soon as your request to join the group is approved, you'll be able to see all our lovely faces - it's only fair that we should be able to see yours, too.
Profile name: The name on your profile must be a name we can call you when we meet, whether that's your birth name, your chosen name, or a nickname.
Pronouns: It's always better to ask than assume. If you'd like your pronouns added to your profile (for this group only), simply let the organizers know.
Attending Our Events
To attend one of our events you must RSVP through the Meetup system.
- RSVP only if you’re confident you will attend. If you are just a ‘maybe’, please leave the available spots for others until you are able to confirm.
- If you RSVP and your plans change, you must update your RSVP with at least 24 hours' notice. We make reservations for these events and we need to confirm the number of seats as a courtesy to the restaurant, prior to the day of the event.
- If you cancel your RSVP with less than 24 hours' notice and you do not contact us to let us know, or you fail to show up entirely, that's a no-show. Multiple no-shows may result in removal from the group.
Note: We completely understand that things come up last minute with childcare, illness, etc. so if you need to cancel with short notice, please just let us know. Thanks!
