The Moving Word: A One-Day Meditation Retreat

Details
Join us at summer’s end for an in-person day of meditation, contemplative writing practice, and movement. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome!
By learning to rest in the present moment through mindfulness meditation, we connect with our own inherent sanity and worthiness despite what's happening in our world so that we can be present for every aspect of our lives.

DAY SCHEDULE
> Guided group instruction will be given followed by periods of sitting and walking meditation.
> Contemplative writing practice exercises will be offered in which we will play with what arises from the infinite richness of space.
> Since our bodies naturally reside in the present moment, simple movement will be offered to help us synchronize mind and body, inviting space and gentle care.
> Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day. There will be a lunch break from 12 – 1:30 pm. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or plan to pick something up at one of the local eateries.
WHAT TO BRING
We have plenty of assorted meditation cushions, though you are welcome to bring your own. Chairs are also available for sitting and writing practice. Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Please bring a notebook, pad, or paper, and a couple of fast-moving pens. You may also choose to write on your laptop or other device.
