Ken Russell's GOTHIC (1987)
Details
“On the shores of Lake Geneva in the sunless summer of 1816, Lord Byron and his doctor John Polidori are visited by Percy and Mary Shelley, with Claire Claremont (Byron’s lover and Mary Shelley’s stepsister) tagging along. Aided by laudanum and other drugs provided by Polidori, they devise an evening of telling impromptu ghoulish tales (most famously leading to FRANKENSTEIN). However, when confronted by the horrors of their own creations, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell apparitions from reality.”
