About us
Welcome to Quiet Women Leaders Meetup!
This group is dedicated to helping growth-minded introverted women leaders to amplify your visibility and impact at work without having to be loud or perform extroversion.
We know how exhausting it is, mentally and emotionally, to be told repeatedly that we are too quiet, not speaking up enough, not demonstrating executive presence, and lacking strategic communication skills.
The problem is not you and me.
It's that we're working inside a system that is extrovert-biased, that rewards the loud, charismatic, and talkative, and mistakenly equates volume with visibility and speed of verbal response with competence.
Introvert brains are wired differently, as neuroscience has demonstrated.
We listen, observe, think, analyze, and process a ton of information in our heads while others are saying the first thing that comes to mind. That's why it looks like we're not contributing in team meetings - no one can see the intensive labour going on inside our brains.
My intention is creating this community is for us to:
- Realize there is nothing wrong with us in being introverted - we are not broken
- To stop feeling like we're the problem, and to start honouring our quiet strengths
- To collaborate, connect, and share our career stories in a safe and guided space without judgment (including our own inner critic)
- To support and cheer on fellow quiet women leaders
- To reclaim our self-agency and personal power by going beyond the conditioning we've grown up with, and rewriting the old stories we've been told about needing to be perfect, needing to do more, and not being enough.
As I am building this community from the ground up, I would like it to be a collaborative space where we contribute our unique gifts and skills to the collective. I welcome your ideas for activities (in person in Melbourne, AUS, as well as online). You can DM me here on Meetup or email me at info@serenalow.com.au with your suggestions.
About Me:
I'm Serena Low, trauma-informed coach for introverts, and host of The Quiet Warrior Podcast. I guide quiet women leaders to thrive in corporate spaces and pursue career progress and executive visibility without burning out or performing extroversion, using my S.E.E.N. framework for sustainable visibility (Safety - Energy - Ethos - Need).
I am an ex-lawyer, a migrant (Singapore to Australia), and a vocal advocate for the gifts and strengths of introverts, as you will see from my LinkedIn profile. I am also the host of two other Meetup groups: Introverts Around The World and Quiet Women Circle.
